Vinod Dham
Father of the Pentium Chip
Mr. Vinod Dham is widely recognized as the “Father of the Pentium Processor” for his pivotal contributions to the personal computing industry and to Intel. Throughout his career, he has focused on innovating and developing chips for the semiconductor industry, ranging from non-volatile memories to microprocessors and chips that enable voice calls over the internet. Mr. Dham is a serial entrepreneur who founded Silicon Spice, an early unicorn that was acquired by Broadcom. He was also instrumental in the successful sale of NexGen to AMD. He was among the pioneering Silicon Valley executives who, along with a few others, established an India-focused venture fund. This initiative helped pave the way for India to become the third largest startup ecosystem in the world.
Currently, Mr. Dham is an angel investor and a coach to seed-stage startups, and he advises a cross-border MedTech fund. He is also serving as an advisor to the Ministry of Electronics, Government of India, supporting their efforts to establish domestic chip manufacturing.
