Satheesh Kuppurao

Dr. Satheesh Kuppurao is Group Vice President for Business Development and Growth at Applied Materials’ Semiconductor Products Group (SPG). He is responsible for business management of all SPG semiconductor products, developing and executing new business models, driving business process and productivity improvements, and developing external partnerships. Prior to this assignment, Dr. Kuppurao served as a General Manager for various business units in Applied Materials ranging from Front End Products, Epitaxy, and Atomic Layer Deposition. Under his leadership, the business units posted record growth by introducing multiple new products and applications serving critical needs in the semiconductor industry. Since January this year, he has also been named interim Applied Materials India’s Country President.

Dr. Kuppurao has nearly three decades of experience in the semiconductor equipment industry driving product innovation and commercializing technologies. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has more than thirty issued patents and numerous technical publications, represented Applied Materials at multiple technical conferences, and coordinated various consortia and university research engagements.
