Maitreyee Mahajani

SVP Fab Operations, Western Digital

Maitreyee Mahajani, Senior Vice President of Flash Front End Operations at Western Digital, is responsible for managing the Western Digital-Kioxia Joint Venture fabs in Japan. She leads NAND manufacturing teams responsible for technology ramp up, yield, quality and output. Joint Venture fabs are considered one of the largest and most advanced 300mm fabs in the world producing more than half a million wafer starts per month (WSPM).

Prior to joining Western Digital, Maitreyee worked at Applied Materials in various technical leadership positions. She has extensive experience developing semiconductor processing equipment which includes the very first 300mm CVD W deposition system, High K/Metal Gate systems and new ALD platforms to name a few. She hold over 40 patents related to 3D Memory Devices, novel semiconductor processes and equipment.

Maitreyee holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the College of Engineering in Pune, India and a Master’s degree in Material Science from University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. She is a recipient of YWCA TWIN award (Tribute to Women in Industry) and is on the council for Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) Women Leadership Initiative. She is passionate about mentoring women in engineering at Western Digital and through GSA.
